There are two maps in the back of the book.

The picture on page 47 is by Yaroslav Veshin, a gifted Czech artist, who specialized on war paintings and, working many years in Bulgaria, made a significant contribution to the art development of the nation.

The portrait on page 49 is by Dimiter Geudjenoff, professor in the Sofia Art Academy and one of Bulgaria's foremost painters.

The portrait of Father Pai'ssy on page 52 is by a distinguished Czech artist, Ivan Murkvitchka, and is one of the most famous and best loved pictures in Bulgaria.

The painting on the cover of the unbound copies is by a noted Bulgarian artist, V. Dimitroff - the Maistor.

Most of the photographs in this book were furnished by George Traicheff, who is the photographer of the Bulgarian National Museum. Any one wanting Bulgarian photographs would do well to see him.
